The Carlei Estate range expands on the principles of the Green Vineyards.

Wines that a real, true to their nature, and express the unique region from which they are grown.

A summation of the four elements, Earth – the soil the vines are grown, Fire - the sun producing light & warmth, Air – expressed through wind, and Water - from the rain and its distribution in the vine. As such the wines of the estate range tell a story.

The story of the vintage, the vineyard, the winemaker and the place. Wines of exquisite depth & harmony, that remain balanced for many years to come.

Fruit is produced in the Cardinia Ranges, alongside several other regions across Victoria, and a special vineyard in the Tamar Valley in Tasmania.

“To truly express terroir requires a pure and natural environment free of artificial elements and un-natural interferences. Therefore, vines need to be grown naturally.

With more wineries than any other Australian State, Victoria is home to a diverse range of terroirs.

Victoria has a reputation for quality, excelling with cool climate wine styles, while still producing bigger bolder styles more akin to the famous regions of other states.

This diversity allows for grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris to produce elegant, sophisticated styles, while Shiraz, Cabernet go full spectrum from medium and elegant to big and bold. On top of this, many new varietals are being grown across the region, all of which show a style unique to Victoria and the region from which they come.

The Green Vineyards produce wine from the Cardinia Ranges, Yarra Valley, Heathcote & Central Victoria, with a museum list like no other offering beautifully aged examples.

The oldest wine producing area in Tasmania – this premium cool climate region is home to many famous producers.

It is from here Carlei sources their Riesling grapes.

The ideal climate produces a harmonious wine with beautiful ripe fruit characters and vibrant cool climate acidity.
