WINEMAKERS: anna & Paolo Borgogno

With well over a century in the area, Fratelli Borgogno have Barolo in their blood. The winery is located on the top of Cannubi – considered one of the greatest Cru’s in the DOCG area. The three hectares surrounding the winery is where their top Barolo comes from. Now in the hands of Anna and Paola Borgogno, they are involved in every step of the process, from harvest to bottling. The very traditional approach to winemaking results in rustic & true to place. A family legacy worth sharing with the world.

“Vineyards are our heritage. The wine is our instrument to tell everyone about it”

region: CANNUBI, PIEDMONT

The jewel in the north of Italy, with a reputation for outstanding wines. Vineyards are planted between 100m/s.l and 400m/s.l. Hillside sites facing the south are planted with Nebbiolo, while the cooler areas planted with Dolcetto. Barbera and Moscato are also found throughout the area, with small areas devoted to high quality Moscato.

Most notable for the wines of Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG, which are capable of ageing well for decades – other wines in the region are generally made in more approachable fruit forward style, although there are still high-quality examples to be found. Wines are made almost exclusively from indigenous Italian varietals, with international varieties slowly being planted across various areas.
